Over 8,000 gymnastics fans attended the US Secret Classic in July at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, IL. The event began Saturday, July 27 with the Junior Women's Competition at 1:00 pm and the Senior Women's Competition at 6:00 pm.
2012 Olympic Gold Medalist and GK Competitive Catalog model, Kyla Ross, of Gym Max in Aliso Viejo, CA won the senior all-around title earning a score of 58.650. Kyla took a second gold for her outstanding performance on the uneven bars with a score of 15.400. Her balance beam performance was just as intense with a score of 14.650 in second place.
Kyla wore GK's Chic Sweetheart Competition Leotard 7562 a gorgeous long sleeve gymnastics leo in Sangria Mystique, with shimmery Gold Leaf Mystique sleeves and elegantly accented with Sangria SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS. The Junior Session resulted in champion, Bailie Key from Texas Dreams earning the top score at 58.250. Her floor exercise was impressive with a double arabian and double pike earning her a 14.0 score. Her exquisite performance on the bars came in at 14.25. Bailie topped off the competition on the balance beam showing her superior flexibility with a score of 15.0. She has a very promising chance to win the title at Championships. The 2013 Secret U.S. Classic was the final qualifier for four gymnasts who have not previously qualified to move forward to the 2013 P&G U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Hartford, CT on August 15-18th. These athletes will compete for berths into the U.S. National Team. Gymnasts included in this qualification are Vanasia Bradley of Lincoln Park, Michigan from Splitz Gymnastics; Nadia Cho of Plano, Texas from WOGA; Christina Desiderio of Hackettstown, New Jersey from Parkettes Gymnastics; and Sydney Johnson-Scharpf of Groveland, Florida from Brandy Johnson’s Global Gymnastics.
