There is no doubt that 2012 All-Around Olympic and GK Champion, Gabby Douglas has overcome a great deal of hardship and obstacles, both in her personal life and in her gymnastics career. In fact, the story of her life is so interesting that it is now the inspiration for a TV movie, "Dreams of Gold", to be aired on the Lifetime Network this weekend. The movie, which took 4 weeks to film, begins in Winnepeg and concludes in Portage la Prairie's PCU Centre, where Gabby made her first debut as a gymnast. She has really enjoyed the experience filming a movie and is still in disbelief that her life has evolved to this point. She and her family are pleased with such a positive and motivating film, as Gabby is a role model for so many young athletes. Gabby remarks, “I couldn’t be any more proud to be featured in a Lifetime movie based on my life and gymnastics journey. The movie portrays a clear description of the challenges and sacrifices my family and I have made to make my dreams come true!”
Be sure to stay tuned this Saturday, February 1 when Gabby's movie, "Dreams of Gold" will premier on Lifetime at 8pm ET/PT.
