The Nastia Liukin Cup in Greensboro, NC has finally begun! Throughout the weekend, you'll see photographs of Nastia Liukin qualifiers published across social media boards everywhere. Here's a sneak peak at the apparel that GK donated to the event.

The Senior team will be wearing a long sleeve competitive leotard, as well as a GK tank leo. The competitive leotard is beautifully designed in Black Mystique with a Clear SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS lined sweetheart styling and a faux halter neckline. The shoulders and arms are dressed in Berry Mesh, enhanced with packed jewels around the neckline. The tank leotard is fashioned almost identically to the long sleeve leo with the same mystique and mesh fabrics, and sweetheart, halter design with an extended faux scoop and halter back styling.

The Juniors will compete in a long sleeve and tank leotard identical in styling to the Senior team leotards, only in contrasting color combinations. Piper from Maverick All-Star Tumblers in Weatherford, TX proudly exhibits her medal for a quick photo in her GK Leotard. The Mavericks are no novice gymnasts. In fact, its owners, WC alumni Shawn and Yvonne (Chandler) Brogan (’95-’97), former Coyote Cheerleaders, and partner Nick Craven, former cheerleader at SMU and University of North Texas all have national collegiate (cheerleading and gymnastic) championships on their resumes. This gym that they run has won numerous State Championships, choreography awards and Grand National Championships, just to name a few. Their growing facility offers classes in tumbling, dance, cheerleading, Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, and wakeboarding aerobics. Piper is one of their many successful athletes and she looks like a million bucks in her GK Leotard!

What a delight is was to see the Bermuda National Senior team from St. David's wearing Under Armour at the IGI Chicago Style Gymnastics Meet this February! The athletes on the Bermuda National Team are a distinguished group of athletes from Bermuda, selected to train in the Bermuda Gymnastics Association's national training center to compete at international competitions around the globe. The IGI Meet is a Nastia Liukin qualifier meet, and it's also the largest women's national invitational gymnastics meet in the world, so it's really no surprise that our GK Representatives, Wendy and Judy, would find them competing on this day. It was quite an honor, though! Other meet locations on their itinerary for this year include Bermuda, Scottland, Brazil, China and Mexico. Their dedication to the sport of gymnastics literally takes them around the world, and they travel in style, in Under Armour!

As the Pink Invitational came to a close on Sunday, Feb.23, GK and all the participants and sponsors gathered their fondest memories to store away until next year. For some of the gymnasts, those memories will include award winning medals, high scores, and team bonding moments. Others will hold dear to them the GK and SWAROVSKI leotards or Mancino mats that they won in our raffles and through fundraising efforts. Some will remember their own personal efforts to aid women effected by breast cancer. Through all the gymnastics events that day, the designing, planning, producing, promoting and enjoyment, here's a few of moments we feel are worth sharing from the Pink Invitational.

First and foremost, the Pink Invitational GK leotard! The Berry Mystique silhouette looked stunning on every single one of the gymnasts who competed at the meet last weekend. A true testament to the success that the competing gyms have had in training their athletes in the skill of gymnastics and in the skill of life, these Pink leotards carry with them a reminder that no matter where your talent lies, we're all united as one to keep women, both young and wise, alive and active, and free of cancer. Many of they gymnastics teams at the meet were really creative with their Pink leos, and dressed them up with anything from tutus to crazy socks and hair pieces.

In addition, the custom designed Unite for HER leotards, and the GK/SWAROVSKI couture leo that was auctioned and raffled at the Pink Invitational are a huge source of pride for GK. All of the black tank leotards that were auctioned at the event were donated to the Bravado art auction by GK, and designed and signed by industry professionals or gymnasts to generate funds for the cause. As you can see from the display below, they turned out fabulous! One of our favorites is the Aly Raisman Unite for HER leo, featuring a jeweled Girls Rule slogan and crown, and an Aly Raisman signature on the bottom right corner. Then we have the GK/SWAROVSKI compulsory leo that is absolutely gorgeous! It's a Black Mystique, long sleeve leotard with an asymmetrical Black Mesh neckline, and it's covered in thousands of Brilliance SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS of various colors. The lucky winner of this raffle is anxiously awaiting her SWAROVSKI leo, worth over $5,000, to arrive in the mail, so stay alert for more details about her reaction to winning. GK is proud to sponsor the 4th Annual Kalon Ludvigson Invitational in Salt Lake City, UT this weekend, in support of Kalon Ludvigson, one of our GK Gymnastics catalog models, and the most decorated Trampoline and Tumbling athlete in the world. The meet will incorporate all levels of competition in Trampoline, Tumbling and Double Mini Trampoline.

Kalon began his gymnastics career at the age of 8, and in just 10 years time, earned his first US National Championship title in Trampoline and Tumbling in 2006. He defended this title for the next seven years, while also earning 20 World Cup and World Championship medals and setting 2 world records. Then, in August 2013 after winning his final US National Championship, a neck injury during training left him paralyzed below his chest. Since his accident, Kalon's treatments and strength-training has kept him out of the public eye... until now. 

This year's Kalon Ludvigson Invitational is going to be absolutely amazing! It will be Kalon's first public appearance since his accident, and his friends, fans and teammates are rallying to support him at this special gymnastics meet. Because of Kalon's superior standing in the gymnastics industry, we're going to see a lot of 2012 World Champion Team members and finalists, as well as World Age Group Champions and former Olympians, many of them competing at the meet. All of these gymnasts are eager to support Kalon, who by the way, was just nominated as the TNT Representative for the USA Gymnastics Athletes Council.

As part of a fundraiser for Kalon's medical costs, fans purchased Keep Calm and Pray for Kalon t-shirts, that they will wear during the final events on Saturday. This supportive gesture should be an amazing and emotional gift of inspiration for Kalon! If you'd like to help offset the costs of Kalon's medical bills, contributions are being collected through The Kalon Ludvigson Fund.

So what part does GK play in this event? All of the gymnasts at the Kalon Ludvigson Invitational will wear a black and white warm-up jacket and warm-up pant from GK. The female athletes will look polished and comfortable in a GK Women's Woven Warm-Up Jacket with Piping L1043 and a Women's Woven Black Pant L1046. Here's a shout-out to our Sales Representative, June Blackman, and the organization that she recently assisted, Aim High Academy, for their efforts to give underprivileged children an opportunity to experience the sport of gymnastics. Founder and Executive Director of Aim High Gymnastics, Jennifer Patterson, sent GK this wonderful note about June, saying,

"I was writing to inform you of a marvelous gesture June Blackman performed for Aim High Academy. We are a non-profit gymnastics program for underprivileged children. We serve over 250 children. We hosted our first gymnastics meet on Jan. 18th in Tulsa, OK. We called it the Dream Meet and ran it in conjunction with MLK Jr. Weekend. It was a great success! We ran a wonderful meet and raised quite a bit of money for Aim High.

One way we raised money was through a raffle. June donated a beautiful leotard out of the Brilliance Collection to the cause. We were able to sell about 700 raffle tickets throughout the day."

Odessa Xtreme proudly competed at the WOGA Classic this year in her Under Armour gymnastics leotard. GK Recently found this great photo of Olga Korbut in a GK warm-up and we wanted to give her a proper shout out by paying tribute to her successful gymnastics career.

The year was 1969 when Korbut entered her first adult Soviet national championship and introduced back somersaults on both the beam (Korbut Salto) and the bars (Korbut Flip) to gymnastics. Although the judges disagreed with the changes she was making to the sport, the crowd instantly fell in love with her. Her bold dazzling moves, some that have never been replicated, took Korbut to the 1972 Munich Olympics where she earned 3 Gold Medals and the Montreal Olympics in '76 where she brought home her fourth Gold medal and stole the hearts of fans throughout the world. Korbut was an instant star!  Her smile was sweet and contagious; she was bright, daring, and easy to love. Perhaps that's why she acquired so many positives titles. After the '72 Olympics, ABC named her "Athlete of the year"; the United Nations named her "Woman of the Year" in 1975 for her ability to bring the world together; and in 1994 Sports Illustrated listed her as one of the top athletes in the last 40 years.

As you can imagine, there's so much more to tell about this amazing woman, but the point is, she's helped to shape our sport, and for that, we love her.

Meet everyday champion, Amanda! Amanda is a 9 year old, XCEL Silver level gymnast from Rincon, GA who aspires to compete at the collegiate level and at the Olympics someday. This is Amanda's first year competing, and she loves learning and growing with her teammates from D.E.E.N.O.S. Below, Amanda is shown warming up for her event by practicing her back handspring.
