Twisters Gymnastics of the Twisters Sports Center in Mountain View, California prepares to compete in the GK sponsored The Spirit of the Flame Challenge in Santa Clara, CA this year in their GK 3/4 sleeve leotards. The Sports Center, their home gym, takes great pride in their gymnastics team, stating, "Gymnastics is considered by many as the foundation of all sports because it enhances a child’s strength, coordination, and flexibility. Studies have shown that it also improves social and cognitive skills that are so important to your child’s growth. Twisters makes it fun to grow and learn by providing positive and safe instruction taught by qualified coaches who are safety certified." The floor of the New Jersey Level 8, 9 and 10 State Gymnastics Championships was a glowing display for GK last weekend! SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS lit up the floor on an array of teams wearing various GK styles. We're undecided as to which style was our favorite, so we'll let you be the judge.

Bright Stars Gymnastics of Egg Harbor Township, NJ competed in our Dramatic Intersecting Competition Leotard 3532. They special ordered this eye-catching competition leo to include swirling design lines of White Sparkle Hologram and Sunshine Mystique on top of their shimmering Cherry Mystique competition garment. They adjusted the sleeves to a 3/4 length and added Brilliance SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS to the cuffs, left sleeve and the White Hologram swirling line design, in addition to the small logo to insure a sparkling routine. We especially love that they paired their GK Leo with matching, bright orange shoes. 

Competitors from Randolph Gymnastics of Randolph, NJ were beautiful and feminine in their special order design of our Cascading Ribbon Gymnastics Leotard 7557. This is a faux sweetheart style, somewhat in disguise. The Violet Slither lower body and and Black Mesh upper body is overlapped with an edgy ribbon pattern in Seaglass Sparkle Hologram and an abundance of Brilliance SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS along the neckline and over the ribbon detail for a mystical look. The combination works well together, and we adore the look.  

The Classic Sweetheart Competition Leotard 7545 looked very regal on Action Gymnastics from Howell, NJ. Their Berry Mystique upper body and arms are lined with Black Mesh and adorned with Brilliance SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS all around, creating a deep and shimmering color. Its the perfect topping to their Black Mystique Lower body, frosted around the cuffs and sweetheart top with heavily packed, Brilliance SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS. Together, the details selected so carefully by Action Gymnastics, delivered a spectacular look, and Action was proud to show it off.

Our Under Armour Collection of competition leotards also offers a sweetheart style, and Rebound Gymnastics, from Marlboro, NJ wears it well. Throughout our 30+ years of service to gymnasts worldwide, GK has proudly donated, and continues to donate, millions of dollars in leotards and gymnastics accessories to the industry. This dedication to give back is not one that we take lightly. It is twofold a responsibility and an honor, for without organizations such as USA Gymnastics Junior Olympics, TOPS, East/West Championships, and smaller organization such as the Wendy Hilliard Foundation, the sport that we dedicate our lives to day in and day out would cease to exist, and so would we.

One of our most recent and prized contributions to gymnastics went to a Hall of Fame Rhythmic Gymnast named Wendy Hilliard. Wendy operates a not for profit gym, The Wendy Hilliard Foundation “WHF”, that provides free weekly gymnastics classes to New York inner city youth. Their website states, "As the first African-American to represent the U.S. in rhythmic gymnastics, Wendy Hilliard's goal was to create a program that provided an opportunity for more minorities to experience her sport. After serving over 10,000 participants the Wendy Hilliard Foundation has established an incredible track record of providing quality programming for people of all ages and abilities in the sport of gymnastics." She has even taken her athletes to the Junior Olympic National Championships, where they consistently won top honors and earned first place finishes. The WHF lady gymnasts are pictured above with GK Business Development Specialist, Erin Gettle.

This year, GK designed and donated a beautiful Imperial Purple Mystique 3/4 Sleeve Gymnastics Leotard 3457 to Wendy Hilliard's Harlem gymnasts. These leos, adorned with Silver Hologram Sequinz in a lively floral pattern, united the team at their own Harlem Invitational, where athletes competed in Rhythmic Gymnastics, Artistic Gymnastics and Trampoline and Tumbling. Most of the competing teams came from New York, but Harlem was also able to pull in some teams from New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts for this well-organized and well-received event.

The WHF guys wore a White Nylon/Spandex Wrap Around Men's Gymnastics Competition Shirt 1853 with Black and Purple Nylon/Spandex style lines along the shoulders and under the arms, and an over-sized Harlem Invitational embroidered logo on the front. Our men's competition shirts feature a boy cut leg for maximum comfort and support. GK also supplied the Harlem boys with a Men's Gymnastics Long Short 1818, in Black Nylon/Spandex. 

As you can see from the photos above, the day wasn't all work and competition. It was also a celebration, of sorts, where the community gathered to honor all of the young gymnasts, their dedication and achievements, and to enjoy the day. The day was made possible through sponsorship from GK, TD Bank, Premier Physical Therapy & Wellness, Whole Foods and Aquafina. Each sponsor had something different to contribute. Thanks to Whole Foods, the coaches and judges enjoyed a delicious lunch, and many of the adults took advantage of Massage by Marta. Best of all, admission was free. The Wendy Hilliard Foundation ended the event with a 2 hour showcase of different groups from their organization putting on group and individual special performances.

We love seeing world renowned gymnasts wearing Under Amour in practice! Victoria Moors is a 2012 Canadian Olympian who practices in Under Armour at Canada's #1 Gymnastics Club, Dynamo Gymnastics.

Kalon Ludvigson had a fabulous turnout this year at his annual Invitational where athletes had an opportunity to meet with Kalon for the first time since his injury in August. Prior to the event, we briefly recapped Kalon's life and his accomplishments. You can read about them at GK is Proud to Sponsor the 4th Annual Kalon Ludvigson Invitational. If you are interested in helping Kalon with his recovery, he is still accepting donations from The Kalon Ludvigson Fund to offset the cost of his treatments and necessary equipment.

What we saw this year at the 4th Annual Kalon Ludvigson Invitational was an amazing rally of support for a friend, peer and hero. The gymnastics meet that began its tradition 4 years ago by an athlete who is adored by many for his talent, comradery and good looks is now an event to support that same athlete that we have come to love over the course of his career. This year, the event attracted professional and aspiring gymnasts alike from across the country. For fans, this meant that Salt Lake City was the place to be. Below you'll see many familiar faces, alongside of Kalon, meeting with fans.

Attire on the mats varied from sparkly tank leotards to formal long sleeve competition leotards. Both of the styles represented below are stocked by GK for immediate purchase. The Gypsy Flyers from Gleason's in Minnesota are wearing a Mystique Low Scoop Neck Leotard 3619 with their team logo added to the front. La Fleurs Gymnastics from Germantown, WI looked phenomenal at the Tim Rand Invitational in February! They all wore the same GK competition leotard, but coaches mixed it up a bit by allowing the girls to choose the color that best fits their personalities. The choice to do so was brilliant, and the La Fleur gymnasts look amazing in their colorful ensembles.

All of the ladies from La Fleurs wore a Vibrant Sweetheart Gymnastics Leotard 7561 in a shimmering Black Mystique fabric with Black Slither Hologram on the upper body and sleeves. Slither Hologram is a fabric choice that catches light just as well as mystique, but it also adds texture and a dimension to the leotards that is both unique and interesting. It's a great choice as a substitute for mesh, especially if you're looking for a durable, textured fabric. The neatest element of La Fleur's Vibrant Sweetheart Gymnastics Leo is their choice of colors for the appliqued design. This year's Winter Cup in Las Vegas, a district qualifier to the P&G Championships, turned out to be a nice reunion for GK, and sales representative, Calli Campo, as we caught up with several of our GK Catalog models and USA Gymnastics National Team members. Cover model, Brandon Wynn, showed up to perform a stunning and winning performance on the rings. After his seemingly effortless routine, he was gracious enough to pose for a photo with a signed copy of the GK Competitive catalog, featuring Wynn in GK Men's Gymnastics Competition Shirt 1971. In addition, fellow National Team member, Donnell Whitenburg, who was welcomed to the Senior National Team at the conclusion of the Winter Cup, stopped by to chat with us as well (pictured below with Wynn).

We always look forward to seeing GK model and National Team member, John Orozco, who, by the way, tied for second place in the All-Around. Falling behind by only half a tenth of a point, Orozco and friend, Joshua Dixon enjoyed their day none-the-less. Dixon was all smiles after winning the Bronze Medal on the vault, and earning his place on the Men's Senior National Team. Both looked great in their Under Armour shirts! Finally, the event wouldn't have come together quite as seamlessly without Director, former Buckeye gymnast, and GK Model, Kerry Adderly!

Region III soared to new heights at the Level 8 Regional Championships recently in Loveland, Colorado. Top gymnasts from eight different states in Level 8 gymnastics from Region III competed in the event hosted by Premier Gymnastics of the Rockies and held at Loveland High School.

Congratulations to Team USA on their overwhelming wins at Jesolo! We are so thankful that photographer Filippo Tomasi was able to capture these amazing moments in gymnastics history to share with us.

Team USA consumed the Senior All-Around podium, with Kyla Ross from Gym-Max Gymnastics in Costa Mesa, CA in First Place, followed by Peyton Ernst from Texas Dreams Gymnastics and Maggie Nichols from Twin City Twisters in Minnesota.

Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy based out of Fairfield, Ohio competed at the Level 9 & 10 Regionals recently.  This dedicated gym strives to provide every child regardless of ability with high quality gymnastics training. Building relationships with these children will enhance the athlete's lives while building their confidence and developing their character while focusing on specialized gymnastics techniques. The gymnasts learn to support each other as a team and work hard to reach their own personal gymnastics goals. The pictures below show CGA at the Level 9 & 10 Regionals in their gorgeous Special Order GK Competitive Leotards and GK Warm Ups.

We all love purple! And what better color to distinguish these young gymnasts from Olympus Tops Gymnastics in Sandy, UT than a tone that combines the energy of red with the calm of blue. A gemologist will tell you that purple is the color of good judgement, while a priest might say it's the color of spirituality. Either way, it's a color that represents balance - hot and cold, loud and subtle. You might say that for the Olympus Tops gymnasts, it represents the ability to perform a grueling gymnastics routine in practice and to reflect, afterwards, on the dynamics of the skill. With that said, having qualities of both warm and cool tones, pairing purple with another color presents a challenge at times. Olympus School of Gymnastics got it right, though, and they are stunning!

Level 9 Brestyan's American Gymnasts were sure to stand out in the Region 6 Regionals in their 3/4 length sleeve GK leotards! They knew in order to be the best they had to look the part, so they choose a glamorous Faux Sweetheart Competition Leo, which is very similar to GK's new Super Sweetheart Competition Leotard.  These stunning v-neck leotards produced nothing less than a sensational buzz throughout the competition as spectators marveled at the endless display of glittering features that danced under the spotlights. These young gymnasts took a classic 3/4 sleeve leotard and kicked it up to new heights by optimizing GK's ability to add a brilliant array of sparkle and shine to any special order gymnastics leotard.

Wanting to maintain a feminine flare with a conservative twist, the team chose a faux sweetheart neckline accented with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.
